What We Pass on to Our Daughters - Book by Manisha Yadav We all would have heard many versions of stories about patriarchy, but this book has shown the inner feelings of two women who go through things out of Patriarchy and societal pressure. Both are from the same family but in different Generations. One is from the 80's - quiet, sacrificing, yet strong! The other one is from the current - bold, rebellious, and confused!  The parallel narration of two different generations and some key attributes of fiction stories, give a grip and exciting flow to read. Questions raised in the mind of these women are authentically raised throughout the book and well discussed in a fictional way. Not only questioning but giving a lot of different perspectives to suit ourselves. The previous generation's Mental strength to be Silent in crisis to hold on to one family to thrive and the "In-between generation's" confused stage to be silent or speak out makes the reading impactful

Strawberry Self-Picking Experience at Thorslunda självplock, Stockholm, Sweden.

Image
Word 'självplock' in Swedish means 'Self-Picking' in English. Strawberries are called  Jordgubbar  in Swedish . I wish, this helps any Non-Swedish speaking people to understand the word when seeing/hearing first. 😁 Desire :  Always when reading about travel to western countries I always loved the concept of Self-Picking. The thought of Self Picking fruits, vegetables, berries all excited me.  Since I traveled to Stockholm recently, Finally I had opportunity to try on Self-Picking.  Achieved : I heard about different places in Stockholm where places offer Self-picking of different vegetables like Cabbage, Lettuce, Spinach and Fruits like Raspberry, Fig, Strawberry etc. But I chose to visit a convenient place for me personally to travel, which is ' Thorslunda självplock '.  It had Strawberries and a vegetable called Rhubarb. I would like to share my experience on that day, when I visited the place for picking tasty Strawberries. Along with some tips. 😉 Season :

Vasippathu eppadi ? - This is the question everyone get when they think 'Well ! I should start reading books too!'. But end of the day, we somehow miss to read. I would say, Instead of the title 'Vasippathu eppadi?', it would have been suitable to have 'Yaen Vasika Vendam?'. Yes! The Author has dived deep into the points where he explain, why we all need to read. I must say, its far enough reasons for all of us to feel ashamed of our-self. Including me, though I read some books a year!. Because I also fall into the category where the Author points. Without reading, we all loose General Knowledge, Self-Awareness, Opportunities around us, lack of confidence to speak out and more... He also point outs the fake reason we all telling to ourselves, from escaping to read. Not only that, he has also detailed out how he was able to achieve good education, good job and good life, through his reading habit. And he urges us to achieve same light of knowledge too. For that
